1. Mail (from David Burt)

Hello there,

I enjoyed you article about titles on fpreuss.com.

I believe that a person has to repent, be baptised (by full immersion in water) then receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (the evidence for this is always speaking in tongues) to be a Christian and Saved. He obviously then has to walk in the Spirit for the rest of his life to enter into the kindom of heaven after this life.

Many people today do not beleive this, but believe a watered down version, which I believe the scriptures don't teach.

What do you think?

Regards

David Burt

Hello there,

I enjoyed your mail. I agree with all your points and think that especially this walking in the spirit for the rest of his life is important for a Christian. A watered-down version is certainly believed by many and this website stresses the necessity to come back to the teachings of the scriptures and do away with all that what was added by man. One thing that was added by man is the abuse of baptism for gaining members for religious organisations, for man-made churches. Your points therefore apply to a Christian who becomes a believer in the framework of the right church. If this is not the case, when therefore baptism is for example abused to deceive a believer, when he for example sees all the wrong these people are doing, for example giving titles to other Christians or teaching Christians to give titles to their leaders, and asks from whom he should then be baptized, then I would give him the advice not to be baptized at all, physically, because it is better than to be baptized by someone, who is an apostate. The main aspect of baptism is the spiritual side of baptism, not the outward ceremony. My opinion is expressed in
Kaspar von Schwenckfeld, http://www.duddeglobal.com/en02/en0202/en0202003.htm.

What do you think?

So let me know what you think about the webpage "Kaspar von Schwenckfeld."
