Astronomical question and answer 208

Frank L. Preuss

Will the waxing moon show itself already one day after new moon?

The sky is overcast in the morning and one can see no heavenly bodies.

Today is one day after new moon and since the moon should now rise after the sun, one would anyway hardly see it because of the light conditions. In the evening it should be better, because then it could perhaps still be visible after sun set, when the sky starts getting dark.

In the afternoon there was then sun shine and clouds and rain all at the same time and then it became overcast completely.
