Today it was overcast the whole day. What does this situation tell me?

 

That I now cannot say, today, one day before new moon, whether one can still see a crescent of the moon on such a day.

Yesterday evening is was hazy and the sun set was one gigantic disc of twinkling sun light with the sun in the centre. All search for any other heavenly bodies was pointless.
