Course of development. Mandatory law. State of free will.
5. and 6. May 1951. B.D. NR. 5125.
Nothing is without purpose and aim. Everything what is, is created by God and called into life for the fulfilment of a purpose. Consequently everything has also its designation; it must serve in some way to fulfil its purpose. Even the smallest work of creation, the smallest living being, has its task, which it has to comply with and as it were is forced to it, because everything created stands under a law of nature, therefore cannot act unlawfully. Nevertheless also that accomplished in the mandatory law remains as it were a serving, because it always brings about the advantage of another work of creation; it is necessary for the coming into being and the conservation of it. And so there is nothing in the whole universe, what would be without designation, therefore would have been created to no purpose. But last purpose and designation is the becoming free of the spiritual, to which therefore the whole work of creation contributes according to the divine wise plan from eternity. Only for the purpose of the of the redemption of the spiritual did the whole creation come into being, and every individual work of creation obeys this destiny in the mandatory law.
But things stand differently with man, who certainly is also a work of creation of God, however is not subject to the mandatory law in his thinking, wanting and acting. The outer man, the bodily form, stands indeed still under the mandatory law, because it is still formed out of the spiritual, which still stands at the beginning of its development. But his soul has a certain freedom; it can develop according to its own will; is therefore not subject to that law as far as God is concerned. Nevertheless also its development, its redemption out of the fetter of earthly matter, depends on its will to busy itself serving – therefore again a serving is the actual purpose of its earth existence. And since it is not forced to a serving activity, love must develop in it, which is the most secure drive to serving activity. What went on and was achieved in the endless long time in the mandatory law, is now to experience its culmination as man, however in free will. Man is to serve in love to become in this way completely free from the bound state, which the spiritual feels as fetter and as restriction of its original actual fullness of power and light. The soul of man can reach this aim on earth, when it has the serious will for it, it however does not have to reach it, because God has given it the freedom of will, so that it decides freely for him or his opponent, who has made it unfree and from whom it therefore must extricate itself. Serving love is the key to becoming free out of endless long dungeon custody. (6.5.1951) What the entity had to do according to God’s will in the long course through the whole creation, that it is now to do in free will in the last stage – it is to serve out of love. In this way it proves its divine origin, because love shapes the divine being, and it again forms itself to that, what it was from the very beginning; it takes again on, what it had given up in free will out of arrogance. As soon as man serves in love, his crime against God is abolished; he has stepped out of the state of sin and has again found back to God, from whom he wanted to go away – (had done away) he has recognized his adoption and desires to step into the right relationship to the father, and through love he becomes a right child of God. But everything must happen in free will, and this is his earth life test, which he must past whatever happens. Man can reach the aim, since as far as God is concerned he helps him in every way; but he can also have covered the whole long course of development in the mandatory state in vain, when he, instead of going upwards in the stage as man, stands still or even develops back. Then he abuses his free will once again – he does not use the many opportunities, which have been given to him for the reaching of the aim, and must then also bear the results – a further course through the whole creation. Once he will also certainly reach his aim, but the being itself determines the time of it being bound, because God gave it free will, which he also respects, so that it can become perfect. Amen. B.D. NR. 5125.
