Page 55 Our planetary system shows a peculiar two-piece division. The outer planets have a completely different inner structure.
Our planetary system shows, with inclusion of all discovered bodies in modern era, a peculiar two-piece division: the inner planets Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, the group of the earth like planets clearly stands out against the outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, the Jupiter like planets, (Pluto is anyway regarded as outsider). The inner planets are relatively small, have weakly developed atmospheres, the leading role being played by oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide, a low rotation speed and solid surfaces with rocks and metals etc. The outer planets are relatively large, have gigantic atmospheres of hydrogen, helium, ammonia and methane, large rotation speeds and a completely different inner structure. These two groups of planets are separated by the belt of asteroids (planetoids, asteroids). All these features play a role for the theoretical interpretation of the origin of the system of planets.
